About Straight Edge Music
Straight Edge Music was birthed by Eldon Yourkin and Melissa Gray in Lindsay Ontario Canada in the Spring of 2006.
The business started out with Eldon giving guitar lessons to a handful of students ranging in age from 12 - 73 years old. Melissa handled all the appointment booking and book keeping and tended to all the ?behind the scenes? work.
It wasn?t too long after the start up of the lessons that both Eldon and Melissa caught the same vision of ?people need music? Music is a huge part of our lives, whether you listen to it or make it or both, its in us, in our design.
The store opened in a very small location on the main street in Lindsay. Straight Edge Music tries to carry a wide variety of Instruments, accessories, music books, and equipment and we pride ourselves on customer service (have link to testimonials) and getting involved in our community.
Both Eldon and Melissa have a huge desire to see young people getting involved in the arts. It doesn?t have to be music, it can be anything, poetry, photography, drama, dance, sculpting, drawing, painting...etc.
Straight Edge Music has been getting involved with the local high schools to help out with local events, as well as local concert organizers Dogbus Online and The City of Kawartha Lakes
